Just the Two of Us, You and I.

Yes, when I came up with the post title, I was singing the Will Smith song in my head, haha. Alright, in honor of Valentine's Day coming up, here's a little mush for ya'.

Numero uno. Around this time last year (I honestly don't even know the exact date...oops) I agreed to let Dan pick me up and take me to get some coffee from this awesome place called Badass Coffee (who unfortunately had to close their shops  here in my town shortly after our visit). He had been trying to get me to go for almost two weeks, but I was pretty content with just hanging out with my girlfriends, no need for boys. But.. I guess his sweet voice on the phone convinced me to go (hahahahaa). We got coffee and sipped it as we walked around the nature trails at school. (by the way, this was an awesome first date and I recommend doing something like this for first dates) I say that, because all we had for entertainment was each others' company... not a movie or concert or anything like that-just us learning a little bit about each other. From that day on, we were pretty much like two-peas-in-a-pod. (Although, I didn't let him call me his GF until like almost a month later.... what can I say, I do things at my own pace :) ) A few months later Dan had to move and we dove into this new long-distance chapter of our relationship with our heads held high and here you have this blog...just one of the many ways we try to share experiences together while being geographically apart.

Numero dos. I actually talked to Dan about cancelling this blog account. Why you may ask...? Just go through the posts and look at who does more posting... ahem, yours truly. I have my own blog. I don't need another- no need to spread myself thin in the blog world.  But Dan refused to agree to the cancellation. He agreed to start blogging again... hmmm. But I think the real reason is because he knows I enjoy sharing this space together and he does too. We are miles apart most of the time and this is space (even if its space on the world wide web) that's ours. It's okay go ahead and get a barf-bag, I know this all very cliche and corny sounding, but it's true.

So, please enjoy our space:)

This is a rather old picture, but don't ya love the matching outfits. haa. and my sort of wavy hair. (read more on my hair obsession here)
For now,

Super South Florida

So last weekend, I drove even further south than I usually do... to visit Dan and his new apartment!
I drove down on a Thursday night. Friday he went to work, while I stayed back to do catch up on zzz's, homework, shop (couldn't help myself... he's so close to the town center and there were some really good sales), and then I ventured to Wally World to pick up a few things, including dinner ingredients.

I have to pause and tell you about my Waaahhlll-maaat experience. So south Florida is known for snow birds...mostly the more seasoned kind, if ya know what I mean. Well do not go into a Walmart in the middle of the day, unless you want to literally be trapped in a circle of seasoned snowbirds moving at super-turtle speed in a circle around you and your cart. The trip took as twice as long as it should have. Eventually I got out! I'm not sure if I have shared prior to this post, but I'm not the greatest chef... (my mom is, she tried to pass her knowledge and skills to me, but I would rather be riding my bike outside when I was younger). But, I'm now trying things out- Dan should be thankful for that or else he wouldn't have come home to a very yummy pasta dinner and salad. I should soon be posting about the deliciouso meal on my blog

Saturday was great great fun! We drove a little ways even further south to visit Ikea! It was a treat for me because there is no Ikea in North Florida. My list of items included a new duvet cover and sheets for my new bed handed down to me by my mother. Dan knew he needed knives, a desk lamp and maybe a piece of wall art or photography. It was a great time to go because some things were on sale. After eating some Swedish Meatballs in the cafe, walked and daydreamed in the showrooms, we went huntin' for our stuff. Knives check. Desk Lamp check. Duvet Cover check.... (couldn't find it on the site, so I will link it later when I take a picture). Dan didn't find anything he liked for the wall, so he will wait. We did however pass by the decorative pillow section and thought about how plain and bland and white his living room is. So we grabbed a couple of throw pillows. I mentioned to Dan that unless the overhead light was on, the living room was pretty dim so as a home-warming gift, I "built-a-lamp", which meant I picked out a separate base and shade. My gift to him.

We were excited to pull the plastic off of everything and put it all together.
Living Room with new pillows (the red makes the red in the painting pop, its how we picked the pillow color) and there's the build-a-lamp over to the right. Looks so much more cozy.
Close-up! (excuse the wrinkles)

Night time!

Later that night, I was treated to a wonderful date. We went out to dinner and then planned to go to see  No Strings Attached. We had a little gap between dinner and the movie so we killed times in Barnes and Noble, always a good time. The movie theater we went to was called The Palace. It's a Cinemark theater. I was first impressed that they had valet parking. Then we walked into the theater house to find that it was HUGE with a balcony. After searching outside to find the balcony stairs we gave up in fear of losing good spots on the floor and missing the show start. The movie was even better than I thought it would be, had us both laughing. :) We found the grand staircase as we were leaving. You apparently have to pay extra to go up because there is also an open bar up top! Maybe I don't get out much and I'm not an aficionado in the movie theater world, so the palace made the date even better.

Sunday:
After sleeping in and making another trip to Walmart, the remainder of the day was spent on the couch because of this purchase:

1. excuse the hair. 2. excuse the blurriness 3. We LOVE  The Big Bang Theory!

That's season 2. We're catching him up. He recently joined me on the Big Bang bandwagon.
So ends a great weekend together. Monday... back to work and school and being apart... only by physical distance though.. of course!

Invisibilty Cloak.

I can't believe I making this reference, but yes, Daniel and I are still here, you just haven't us.... We have not been good blog parents. Sad, I know.

We have lots to update you on, like Daniel's new place! A new blog project I have taken on. Our wonderfully crazy winter break. And since, we like to talk about music, I found a really (haha) swell blog introducing new artists. Perhaps, I will touch on one of these during a study break later today.... :) Not making any promises though.

For now, we will leave you with this:
Happy New Year (this is actually before New Years Eve, but looks festive, right?) Cheers to 2011!

Big Talbot, BBS, and Good Friends Part II

Okay, so I left off at the beach, where we spend some quality time with our buddies Ryan and Shannon on the beach, enjoying the sand between our toes and photo ops. After that, Daniel and I packed ourselves back into the car and headed back down south. (This means I drove down on a Thursday night. Daniel and I went to FAU Friday. Saturday morning, the two of us drove together to J-ville. Sunday we drove back Sunday-Halloween.) For Halloween we passed candy out and watched a scary movie. I then drove home Monday morning.

A couple weeks later, Daniel came to visit me. That Saturday he surprised me by taking me to Urban Outfitters and letting me pick out date outfits. Ahhh:) We then joined our friend Noah to go hike along the beach at Big Talbot Island State Park.

It was beautiful and very peaceful.

Thanks Noah for the pictures.
Lookin' good for date night. We ate dinner at Sliders and then went to see the movie Due Date which is hilarious.

Saying goodbye to Daniel was not fun (as usual) but then a couple of weeks later, I drove down to see him and so we could go to Buzz Bake Sale 15. It was sweet. Basically we were at the Cruzan Ampitheater for 10 hours running around to different stages to watch various bands do their thaaaang. If you click on the link for BBS, you can read about all the bands we saw. We definitely loved Chevelle and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones!  I took a really sweet picture of Daniel while we were waiting to go to our seats, but blogger is being slow about uploading pics... Anywho, Buzz Bake Sale was cool. The longest either of us had been at one music venue in a given time, seeing a slew of bands allllllll day long. Tiring, but very fun. :)

We are currently both in our jammies bloggin' and guitarin' enjoying our last day together in South Florida. We would be sad, but we're really not.... BECAUSE in 3 days, we will be making our way up to Snowshoe in WV to ski and snowboard with some friends! We are way stoked.... WAYYY! (S. Stowe that was for you if you're reading this).

Maybe I will be back shortly to talk about my stay down here:)

Til next time,
A

Big Talbot, BBS, and Good Friends

So it's been some time since this blog has been updated. Sorry I never finished my countdown to see Daniel, school go the best of my time and that's also the reason for the long absence. Since that last post, Daniel and I have gotten to see each other three times! Exciting for us!

At the very end of October, I drove down to see Dan and take my nursing school entrance exam at Florida Atlantic University. He and I both drove up to Jacksonville to celebrate our friend Haley's big 2-1.

At the Players Grille for wings, beer, and FL/GA football! Haley is circled with a birthday tiara.

Later that night, tossing a beer behind the bar at Bahama Breeze.

A long night out makes for a really slow start the next day. We slept in and had lunch and walked on the beach with our best friends, Ryan and Shannon.

Shannon's yummy chocolate shake at Johnny Angel's diner. (I had one too!)

Girly feet. :)
Macho guys. Posing for a photo means sticking your chest out and showing off those guns haha.

Props to Shannon for being able to capture sweet and fun moments.

Love. Need I say more...

Okay, so because this post has a lot of pictures to go with and I have much more to catch you up on...  this is it for now, BUT there WILL be a Part II. I just need to get some other things done at the moment.
